Move North Studio Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 13 July 2026

Welcome to Move North.

Our mission is to create a welcoming space where people can move well, build strength, and feel part of a supportive community. By creating an account, purchasing a membership or class pack, booking a class, attending the studio or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms apply to all Move North services, including studio classes, online offerings, workshops, events, memberships, class packs, retail purchases, and gift cards.

1. Bookings

All classes must be booked through the Move North booking system. You cannot book via email, social media, or text message.

Bookings are subject to availability.

Move North reserves the right to change instructors, class formats, timetables or studio operations where reasonably necessary. Every effort will be made to notify clients of significant changes.

Classes with insufficient bookings may be cancelled. If this occurs, any class credit used for the booking will be returned to your account.

2. Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens. Our cancellation policy helps ensure all members have a fair opportunity to attend classes.

  • Cancellations made more than 9 hours before the scheduled class will have the class credit returned to the client's account.

  • Cancellations made within 9 hours of the scheduled class will forfeit the class credit.

  • Unlimited memberships are subject to the same cancellation policy and any applicable late cancellation fees outlined in the membership agreement.

3. No Shows

A no show occurs when a client books into a class but does not attend and has not cancelled before the cancellation window.

To encourage fairness for waitlisted members:

  • Each client receives one complimentary no show waiver per calendar month.

  • After the complimentary waiver has been used, a $10 no show fee will apply for every subsequent no show.

  • No additional no show fees will be waived except where required by law or at Move North's sole discretion in exceptional circumstances.

Clients are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method on their account.

If a client removes or fails to maintain a valid payment method to avoid outstanding fees, Move North will first contact the client to provide an opportunity to resolve the issue.

If the issue is not resolved after reasonable communication, Move North reserves the right to suspend the client's booking privileges and access to the studio until all outstanding fees have been paid and a valid payment method has been restored.

4. Waitlists

Clients may join a waitlist for fully booked classes.

If a place becomes available, clients may be automatically added to the class in accordance with the booking system settings. Clients will continue to be added up until 60 minutes prior to the class commencing.

Once added to a class, the standard cancellation policy applies.

It is the client's responsibility to monitor their bookings and remove themselves from the waitlist if they no longer wish to attend.

5. Memberships & Class Packs

Memberships and class packs are personal to the account holder and cannot be shared or transferred unless otherwise approved by Move North.

Class packs expire according to the expiry period stated at the time of purchase.

Membership fees, class prices, and studio policies may be updated from time to time. Reasonable notice will be provided where required.

Membership suspensions, cancellations, and notice periods are governed by the membership agreement applicable to your membership.

6. Age Requirements

For safety reasons, the following minimum age requirements apply:

  • Clients aged 14–15 years may attend classes only when accompanied by a participating parent or legal guardian.

  • Clients aged 16 years and over may attend independently.

Move North reserves the right to request proof of age where appropriate.

If Move North believes a client aged under 18 is not suitable to attend, the client and parent will be spoken to.

7. Pregnancy

We are pleased to support clients throughout pregnancy wherever appropriate.

Clients who are pregnant are responsible for informing their instructor before participating in class.

After 16 weeks' gestation, clients must provide written medical clearance from their treating healthcare provider confirming they are fit to participate in reformer Pilates or other Move North classes.

Participation during pregnancy remains at the client's own risk and instructors may modify or restrict exercises where necessary for safety.

8. Health & Safety

By participating in classes, clients confirm that they:

  • are medically fit to participate in exercise;

  • will disclose any injuries, medical conditions or relevant health concerns that may affect participation;

  • will immediately notify the instructor if they experience pain, dizziness, discomfort or illness during class; and

  • will follow instructor directions at all times.

Participation in exercise carries inherent risks. Clients participate voluntarily and acknowledge these risks.

9. Community Standards

Move North exists to build a positive, welcoming, and supportive community.

We ask every client to treat fellow members, instructors, and staff with:

  • kindness;

  • respect;

  • honesty; and

  • consideration.

Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, abusive behaviour, threatening conduct or repeated disregard for studio policies will not be tolerated.

Where a client's behaviour is inconsistent with these community values, Move North reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove that client's access to classes, memberships and studio services.

10. Studio Etiquette

For the comfort and safety of everyone:

  • Grip socks are encouraged during all reformer classes.

  • Please arrive before your scheduled class time.

  • Late entry may not be permitted once class has commenced.

  • Mobile phones should remain on silent during class.

  • Equipment should be treated with care and returned neatly after use.

11. Photography & Marketing

From time to time, Move North may photograph or film classes for promotional purposes.

Clients who do not wish to appear in promotional material are encouraged to advise a staff member before class.

12. Retail Purchases & Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Retail items may only be returned where required under the Australian Consumer Law or in accordance with Move North's returns policy.

13. Privacy

Move North is committed to protecting your privacy.

Personal information collected through bookings, memberships or enquiries will only be used for purposes related to providing our services, communicating with clients and meeting our legal obligations.

We will handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy legislation.

14. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation.

Where required by law, Move North will provide refunds, replacements or other remedies.

15. Changes to these Terms

Move North may amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The current version will always be available on our website.

Continued use of our services after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of those updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
